    Briefly..Marriage broke up, she wants out and 50% of the value of the family home which is worth approx €160k ( mortgage paid) The bank has agreed to loan me €80k over 20 yrs.
    She says she doesn't want to see me financially ruined and has put it to me if she can stay until son finishes college (3yrs left) and that way I could put money aside about €25k over 3 yrs and see what way the property market is then and she'll still only want 50%.

    question is will she change her mind. i think in law she would be entitled to stay until son finishes education

    if your not divorced she will have half your savings also
