Can someone please help me understand this statement.. or direct me to a website thank you...
Sometimes architects group together in joint venture to form an entity for the provision of specialized architectural services where none of the individuals or firms involved, because of the size and nature of the project, could provide the necessary knowledge, expertise and resources separately. In such instances they need to take care not to infringe competition law.

The architects work together sometimes because a project is too big for one of them alone.
The competition issue means that too many architects or the top architects, if they band together, might have a bad effect on consumers if there is no competition.
Think if Ryanair and Aer Lingus merged togethr, there would be no competition and so prices could be higher.

You need to consider the matter of NTL and Chorus. It was decided that having a strong number 2 competitor (fixed line telcoms) was more important than having weaker number 2 and 3 operators.
