Well if Shaq can do it, so can St PatriQ. Not only did he get a mountain in Mayo named after him and banish all the snakes as well as any possible traces of snakes having lived here, St PatriQ is an honorary Admin of Boards.ie!

It's the time of year where we look in amazement around the world at what they get up to in honour of our little patch of the planet and constantly cringe every time some eejit American says "Patties Day."

We hope that you all have a fun long weekend and enjoy whatever celebrations you're taking part in (or that you just have a nice weekend if you're not).

But let us continue on with some news!

With the improvement in weather (or at the very least, the increased availability of day light, lets forget about the snow last week), there are Boardsies across the country going for a kick about. We heard first from muffler in the Donegal Forum saying there's a thread about it here. We also heard from Gaspode about a similar group that's been running for a while in the Dublin 15 Forum.

If you're looking to find a group of people to go for a bit of 5 a side with, try your closest area on our Regional Forums. Don't forget, we have an extremely successful Boards.ie Soccer team too and you can find details of their schedule here on their forum.

We'll leave you with this story of when Captain Shamrock and St PatriQ got rid of all the snakes in Ireland.

Shillelagh's in your ears and Shamrocks up your noses one and all!
