Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lineups subject to change but with morale at an all time low at Reading after McDermot's shock sacking,I can only see a United win & possibly a hiding for the away side.

I wouldn't say a hiding is in the making, 2-0 to us

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,586 ✭✭✭jaykay74

I would have thought when Reading sacked their manager that they had some kind of replacement in mind to take over immediately for one last push to try and stay up. Doesn't seem to be the case. Hard to see them getting anything here.

RVP to end his barren spell and score 2+ here, usually I'm cautious but this should be relatively straightforward (hopefully).

I don't like us kicking off late, for some reason we seem to be lacklustre in these games.
Don't want any drama and cliches of "we always seem to do it the hard way".
Reading are there for the taking so I want a ruthless performance.

That team should be enough to win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,772 ✭✭✭✭Paul Tergat

Subs; Lindegaard, Evans, Valencia, Hernandez, Carrick, Powell, Kagawa

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,709 ✭✭✭✭Cantona's Collars

Giggs & Anderson in midfield makes me nervous.

Lets hope Ando turns up this match. Totally anonymous in his last match.

Should be a good game for RVP to get his goal scoring form back

That midfield 4 is pretty poor, I'm slightly nervous about this game now.

Interesting team selection. Should be good enough, hope Ando can turn it around and put in a decent shift.
These are the sort of games Ashley Young should thrive on, expecting a good game from him.

We should be beating Reading at home.

Good chance for fringe players to shine.

What a day its been. Decent side, hopefully few goals to nil.

Readings caretaker manager is a Galway man? News to me.

Explains why he thought Noel Hunt up front on his own was a good choice :P

Reading to win and yer man to get the job full time and be sacked when they're relegated.

Pat Dolan's twin brother, believe it or not.

You could see the similarities between them in the pre-match interview..

    No Carrick, no rhythm

Ah they do look alike alright.

    Boring 10 minutes so far...

No urgency at all from UTD here. I hate it when we play like this. The crowd is quite enough at OT at the best of times without giving them nothing to cheer about.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,190 ✭✭✭✭IvySlayer

    Well this is enthralling.

    Finally, quick tempo passing

Smalling just doesn't offer the same attacking threat as Rafael . Couple of times he should have been pushed on further than he has .

    Super Rio!!

    Awesome Rio

    lucky deflection though. lovely

    Rio! :D

I dont think it was a great shot from Rooney without the deflection but who cares. On the way to being 15 points clear and the title. There I said it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,949 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

Imagine if young put his shot in the corner, Rio would have two assists today.

To be fair, we only need 4 wins and a draw for the title, or 2 wins and 7 draws. Not the hardest thing to achieve to be honest. Rio is having a great game so far though.

It looks like UTD are happy to do this in second gear. I've seen this too many times this season. Its only an equaliser or going behind that seems to wake us up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,949 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

RVp is in a bit of a funk lately. Even his all round play has been poor by his standards.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,389 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

The defensive line need to push up. Far too much space between defence-midfield-attack, leads to too many risky balls that get given away.

Buttner just goes where he likes .

Good Jaysus, this is boring as f**k.

Muck from UTD tbh. The players look like playing reading is beneath them. We are lucky to be ahead.

Hopefully Fergie will get them motivated for the second half. You know its a poor game when your looking forward to half time, I just feel sorry for those who paid into OT to watch that.

Welbeck is not a Utd player ,just not good enough .

RVPs loss of form is worrying, hopefully he`ll nick a goal in the second half

Pretty sure his form dropped around the same time last season, although he was still putting a few away.

Can we all just calm the fcuk down?? United are the better team, and are taking it easy. They don't have to do anything special, they are winning and thats the point. They don't have to sprint to the finish, just remain calm and get the 3 points.

You're the only one who needs to calm down, people agreed it was a boring match nothing more...

Bloody hell Vidic. That's a dangerous game to go playing in the box.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,949 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

Ando likes to put a lot of pace in his passes doesn't he? It must be a nightmare trying to control one of his passes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,116 ✭✭✭Professional Griefer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,116 ✭✭✭Professional Griefer

They're seeing way too much of the ball. Changes needed.

Dolan loves his "claw" hand gesture.
