Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is there any archives of easily available data on previous political polls in Ireland from all of the various companies?

    I know of this site:
    http://www.tcd.ie/Political_Science/IOPA/index.php?page=intro

And also Red C have a lot of their recent polls up, but neither of those sources are great.

Just wondering there is anywhere else, I really want something that I can just paste into excel.

    Thanks!

How far back do you want to go?

Not the best of sources, but this Wikipedia article is keeping a track of all polls post GE2011.

10-20+ years if possible. That's definitely a great help though, thanks!

Always looked for such a source myself, but couldn't find any. Sounds like something that would be worthwhile starting.

Political polls only started in the late 70s in Ireland, so you're going to struggle to get more than that.
The first polls in Ireland were conducted ahead of the 1977 general election. They were not published as they were considered inaccurate although, in fact they accurately predicted the outcome

I think it was the '87 election before RTE started taking them seriously.

Unfortunately I see a lot of microfiche in your research (or aying the times & indo for access their online archives).

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
