Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looking for recommendations for an excellent camera-phone for around €200-€300. Will be used primarily as travel/holiday phone. Will be buying the phone sim-free.

    Requirements (in order):
    - Excellent camera
    - Good battery life
    - GPS, Email, Web
    - Non iOS
    - Small-medium size
    - At least 8GB onboard space (if possible, more with additional card)

I have shortlisted a few phones, but would welcome to hear about others:
    - Nokia 808
    - Nokia N8
    - Nokia N9
    - Sony Xperia S
    - Nokia Lumia 720

Which phone would you recommend as an excellent camera-phone?

You won't really pick up an excellent camera for under 300

Unless you go second hand. Features and battery life generally don't come in the same package

Reviews of Nexus 4's camera don't appear to be too impressive, hence the non-appearance in my shortlist.

The 808 is the best camera phone ever made, but you won't get one for less than €300.

The next best option is a Nokia N8, out of all the phones on the market today, it is still the second best camera phone available. Probably not available in shops, but if you look around, you can pick up a new/almost new model for less than €200.

Here is a brand new one on adverts for €150, will need unlocking though - http://www.adverts.ie/mobile-phones/nokia-n8/1680878

The camera's on the other phones that you listed are trash.

HTC One X, getting a reduction due to the One coming out and still has an excellent camera

Way behind the camera that's in the N8.

Good luck finding one. Not the best camera out there but pretty good.
