bewildering entry of the day - the Blacked-up Morris Dancers - anyone know what the story was with them?

also (and I say this every year) what is the benefit of letting commercial vehicles into the parade? O'Neill's Oil ran 2 oil tankers in the middle of the parade, one of them had a tricolour hanging off the back and that was their only concession to the festivities. Ditto the various minibuses, breakdown trucks and the painter/decorator who was handing out flyers from his van. Tying balloons to your wing mirrors does not magically turn you into a float.

Good to see a few more bands in the parade this year though.

At least we were spared the loud horn blowing that the Newtown parade got from the ultima oil trucks.

yeah, Google led me to the same place, still wasn't sure it was them. How did they fetch up in Greystones (did they come with the Rochdale Brass Band that was following them)?

I think we got that as well, at least one of the "truck" entries was continuously blowing their horn and drowning out the brass band marching in front of them
