J1 Orientation

Hey lads, anyone know what's the story with the J1 orientation this year? Is it really compulsory? The only dates are: Dublin 2nd, Limerick 3rd, Cork 4th and Galway the 5th of April. I wouldn't mind going along, but it's just the effort of taking a day off college to get to Dublin from Waterford! :mad:
