Clear Facebook friend history

I searched for an old flame on Facebook and now every time I type in the first letter of the person's name it pops up and reminds me. I've gone into the activity log and cleared searches but still all the people I've ever searched for pop up when I type in the first letter of their name. I'm thinking the only option I have is to delete my account. Any help please?

Simple Google search brought up this...hope it helps. Facebook search is still in Beta so hopefully it will work for you

What is your problem?? I sent you the link and you continue to be an ass about it? If you don't want the help...don't ask...

My problem is nobody read the part of my opening post where I said I tried the very thing you're recommending. Of course I tried "a simple Google search" before coming here. I'm not so bad at the internetz that I can't do routine things like posting a link for example.
