... Where I'm considering something new especially now the summer is coming. Well not new but 2-3 years old.

I currently have a 2010 kawasaki er6f and insurance is up next month sometime. I ride all year as I don't have a car.

I like the power (65hp I think) but a little more would be nice.
I like the comfort but I'm willing to sacrifice that a little for a more sporty look. However I still want to be able to ride for an hour or two without needing a massage at the end. Although if any of the ladies want to volunteer!
But one thing about the er6 that ive never really liked is the overall sound. Its not too bad in certain rpm ranges but low down it sounds like a tractor.

My budget is probably around 5k GBP.

What's it like at motorway speeds as its unfared. I'm 6'1 and had an er6n for a few days and it was painful at motorway speeds. The wind killed it.

From the reviews I've read they seem to suggest the bike is very harsh on the wrists.

Just a suggestion but maybe don't critize every response you get.

Assume you have a full license....

F800st might be do able on that budget.

Yamaha xt....choice of r, x or z. I have a z perfect for Irish roads.

Compared to a naked bike sure, but buy a supersport bike and you'll learn about hard on the wrists

They are not too bad, you can get screen extenders for them too but look a bit funny, I'd say at that height almost any bike is going to be windy unless you get the likes of a big touring bike.

F800ST looks interesting. Ill look into it. It would also save me the effort of asjusting and cleaning the chain which is the bane of owning a bike.

I have a sv1000s. I never found it hard on the wrists. The only issue i had was bending my head back to look forward caus my damn short arms.

I just slapped on some adjustable clipons and its perfect now.

Staying with Kawasaki the Z750 is a good one, or if you can find a Z1000 SX, or with Yamaha the Fazer or Xj are also good. I used to have the ducati multistrada 620 and loved it, if I could I would have gone up to the 1100 Multistrada which is a great ride.

I used my ducati everyday also to commute to work for the past 6 years and loved it. But I was made redundant I reluctantly had to sell it but would defo get another one but probably the 1100 this time.
