From your income (after tax) how much goes to your rent/mortgage?

Mortgage: Gross, before tax relief at source or other tax credits. Exclude any property or life insurance.

Renting: Gross before deducting of rent tax credit.

If receiving rent allowance / supplement: Count the rent allowance / supplement as part of you income, e.g. if receiving €188 unemployment benefit and €52 rent supplement, treat you income as €240 per week. The rent is then the total amount you pay the landlord (less any additional services like bins, heating, etc.).
