I wrecked my back garden grass by spraying it with a very strong mixture of weed killer last september. i need to patch it up and in most cases plant new grass. i have a bird problem as well cause every time i lay grass seed its ate by birds! can i sprinkle the seed and cover it with news papers or what else should i do to…

Sow it extra thick. Sprinkle some fine compost over it and lightly water it.
