Hi all, im having a strange wifi problem that i'll try and explain as best i can and maybe someone out there can help me get to the bottom of it.

My desktop is a Dell 8100 XPS
for its internet im using a Usb Dongle.

The Dongle is a EDUP 802.11n

My internet connection is a 5 meg line with net1.ie
if i speed test this via my laptop im getting approx 5 megs.

    the problem is..

if i speedtest on my desktop im getting a speed of .50kb/s almost dialup speed, nothing else is running on the computer. no other downloads etc.

so i know the usb dongle isnt supposed to be that slow.

    anyway

if i transfer a file from my desktop to another machine on the network im getting good 5meg per second,

so the usb dongle is capable of transferring at high speeds,

but when connected to the internet its reduced drastically.

im honestly stumped by this and cant fathom the problem or a solution.

    anyone with any suggestions?
