It was (operative word) called "IN Dalkey" and sported a red and white color scheme with a retro-60s interior. It remained inactive between mid 2008 to early 2011 becoming dilapidated in the process. Thereafter, it underwent a massive refurbishment and re-branding and reopened in mid to late 2011 as "The Magpie Inn" bearing a slight phonetic reference to it's previous name (i.e. IN and Inn). It was also known as "The Mariner" and "The Arches" well before the year 2000. In the last 20 years, the premises has gone under 4 names.
