Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    ''Blacksmith.''
''Blacksmith? That's an unusual name.. Why did you call him Blacksmith?''
''Coz every time I kick him in the nuts, he makes a bolt for the door.''

My cat is called Kitty Taylor. We got her on the day Katie won the gold last year. Always turns heads in the vet when he walks out and says "Kitty Taylor Keane"? Sounds like I'm collecting a very posh child.

Ive a mate now living in the states, who named their Alaskan Malamute 'Madra'. Genius. Bet the yanks think its cool.

I'm more of a 'human name' person. Our Husky is named Hugo. People keep calling him Hugo Boss, and refer to my (estate) car as the Hugo Bus. It's not the least bit annoying...

My sister named our last cat 'Thyona'. It was some obscure theatrical reference, which I'm guessing only gin dribbling, theatre buffs would get. So, I just took to calling the cat 'Puddin' or 'Pud'.

That's weird, I had a mate that had a dog called "dirty fúcking knacker"

He actually used to say "I'll be out later, I have to bring this dirty fúcking knacker for a walk"

I could never understand why he got a dog? He used to say the dogs name with a huge amount of anger, although I never witnessed him hurting it.

I've three little dogs called; Lillie, Willie & Millie.

I know individually they're not unusual, but it's funny trying to call them back all together.

Saw a cat named PAUL NEWMAN at the adoption centre when we went to adopt me old cat. Mad name so it was.

My mam named our cat Cheeky, after the cat she had when she was younger. Then I named our other cat Mosaí (Mossy) from the Irish book I had in third class. Recently a young black and white cat has sort of adopted us, and I told Colm! I'd name it after Mattias Claus Von Steuben, a Facebook character who anyone following Colm Vs. The Sraith Pictiúirí will know of. But I figured Meowttias Claws Von Kitten would suit it better :P

Also, my brother has a guinea pig called Porsche.

My friend called her golden lab Lily without thinking that her next door neighbour is also called Lily. In the early days whenever she was calling the dog in, the neighbour would pop her head over the fence and say "are you looking for me Siobhan?"
