On May 6th Loughrea will host one of the many Darkness into Light walks held throughout the country in aid of Pieta House . Pieta House is a non-profit organisation providing a specialised treatment programme for people who have suicidal ideation or who participate in self-harming

ADmin....why can this topic not be kept up on the Galway County link where it is most likely to be seen . Why put into a section that has had only 90 + postings in nearly 4 years. This is a very important event nationally and needs all the support it can get. I await your reply...

Feel free to let others know about your fun thing/event in response to a request for something, but starting a thread to pimp your event is not allowed. This goes for ANY type of event. This is a discussion board, not a poster wall.

There are many worthy causes (suicide/cancer/children's hospitals, etc) all wanting attention and that is why we created this What's On thread.

I understand that Pieta house does good work but so does Simon, Cancer Care West. SVP, Red Cross, Concern, Alone, Down Syndrome Centre, Enable Ireland, Trócaire, Samartians, and many more. We cannot harbour event threads for them all so we put them all into one thread - this one.

One is outdoor in the Mart from 10-2, the other is in the community Hall until 4pm. It is a 'Vide Grenier'

Pour celles et ceux qui souhaitent y participer, n'hésitez pas à vous inscrire, le tarif est de 15 euros pour la journée.

Friends, it's Bike week from 10th till the 18th of June and there's loads going on! So let's get the ball rolling...

There's a family event, a pedal parade, in Athenry on Sunday the 11th of June. We're asking folk to 'pimp your bike' and join in the fun.

Meeting; 4pm The Swan Gate Car Park, Athenry Town
Bike types: Anything on wheels, Bikes, go-karts, skates, Trikes
Suitable age: Depending on the experience of the cyclist, it's just over a 2 1/2 mile cycle loop and it'll be traveling at a slow pace for little wheels:D
Prizes; Best Bikes win a prize.
