How long for a cheque to clear?

    Just wondering how long does it take a cheque to clear, I lodged one last Friday from Aib in to my Boi account but it still hasn't cleared yet.

    It takes 5 working days for a non BOI cheque to clear so the funds should be available to you tomorrow.

    Tried to withdraw funds this morning but it still hasn't cleared?!

    Apologies Brian,

    I forgot about the Bank Holiday this week.
    As Monday wasn't a working day, it will be next Monday before it's cleared.

    Having said that, the funds may be available after close of business today although I would advise calling your branch who can clarify this for you.
