Hello guys. Had a load of Recording Studio equipment robbed from my studio in Laois. If you hear of any dodgy folk selling Neumann u87 Mic, Focusrite Liquid Saffire pre-amp interface, Fender HotRod Deluxe Amp, Apple Mac, Shure SM7b mic, Focusrite Octopre Preamp. UA 601. Various other things. Let me know. Allegedly these burglar bastards are working their way accross the country, and selling a lot of gear up North. If anyone hears anything, let me know.
    Cheers.

Cheers dude. Bastards tried to flood the house too, and broke up all the furniture just for spite. Allegedly they took a **** in the beds of others who they hit. And to think someone like Padraig Nally was convicted for shooting such bastards

Really sorry to hear this! These sorts of stories drive me nuts. I was all set to buy a country getaway/studio in Ireland, but after hearing this story and others, I'm leaning more towards buying on the continent. Were the police any use when they came - did they actually take fingerprints etc.

This has been bugging me all weekend, woke up in a panic yesterday morning. It is starting to become common as the weeks pass.

Stay safe folks. Keep a look out.

Revolver Ireland: If you have recorded the serial numbers of any of the equipment you should post them up so people can check them if they see any deals too good to be true.

Everybody else: Record the serial number of every piece of equipment you own, save it somewhere private, maybe online like a private Google Document.

That's the kind of thing kids do when they do burglaries. They get so excited they literally have to go where they are. Pro burglars are more interested in getting the valuables and getting out.

I would put money on it, it's local kids in your area.

That's awful, hope you get some gear returned if not all.

A U87 mic went up on Gumtree a few weeks back for what I thought was a very low price, around 500 quid, was down again in a few hours, listed as a Dublin seller, from what I recall it was listed as a very particular model because of the accessories, most likely innocent but if you haven't already seen it could be worth a look?

Thanks for the replies folks. Didn't mean to freak anyone out Peter05:) These country areas seem to be a favourite target.

To answer some of your queries:
Thankfully, I had my backup of my HDD, but no records of most of the gears serial numbers. Lesson learned for the future:(

The Garda were grand. CSI team etc. Allegedly the thieves wore marigolds and Adidas runners.

Sorting things out with Insurance at the moment (First time I've had to actually USE any type of insurance, so am a bit wary of them trying to look for a way of not paying), and if it all works out with that I'll be happy. In fact its thinking I'll be fully reimbursed thats keeping me positive. If anything stops them from paying up, I'll have a break down. Lots of receipts etc, but aso Adverts purchases etc. I might take the opportunity to upgrade, change things etc. Future insurance is going to be ridiculous though I reckon :(

Yeah, I know who that is......The bored housewives

A gang of women who grew tired of the grinding monotony of washing dishes and light housework; making beds, cooking dinners, f**K that. Normal life, that the rest of us find more than satisfying, wasn't enough for them. They turned to crime, to get their kicks; drug dealing, gangland hits, chaos and mayhem. Faces numbed on cocaine, windows rolled down, pure chilled air racing over them, as they speed down motorways in stolen BMWs.

They were just wearing marigolds? - *JUST* marigolds? :)

Yes, just marigolds. They do all their jobs in the nip. They cover themselves in a thick layer of baby oil to evade capture. They literally slip through the Gardai's fingers.
