    Hi,
Can anyone tell me how accurate are long term forecasts?

    Thanks,

They aren't really accurate past 4-5 days, some times less than that but what the various forecasting models can do is show trends as to what it might be like, if they are in some sort of agreement at long range or FI (fantasy island)

they are not accurate but they are a good guide most of the time

e.g the trend for the next 2 weeks is for very cold weather with dry arctic air next week and then rain tries to push in from the west the following week and we have the Southeasterly air again but still cold.

Sound. I'm off to Southern Spain in a couple of weeks and the weather is forecasting showers. The previous day it was forecasting sun sun sun for the same dates. Hopefully it'll change back again!!
