MILLDEAN PANTHER “ON THE WAY BACK”
    22/03/2013
A statement issued by the owners, the M & H Syndicate, reports that Milldean Panther is on the way back and will go for “all the big races after May”.
The statement reads: “Panther arrived in England late December. On the advice from Dolores (Ruth) we got him checked out from head to toe, with over 60 x-rays. Finally we believe we have found the problem that plagued his career in 2012.
“It has been well documented he had an Achilles injury. However our vets believe this was the secondary injury. The main injury is a small fracture in his back between the L1 and L2 and this would have caused pain spasms.
“Once he went into the bend that is where the spasms caused him trouble, hence he would adjust himself and that is where he was injuring the Achilles.
“Our vet believes both injuries are treatable as long as we keep on top of them, now at long last we know what the main problem has been. Looking forward, I can confirm he will go for all the big races after May, he is now back in training and, fingers crossed, he can come back better than ever.
“As he has changed stud keepers, Panther has mated a number of bitches while recovering from injury and we have straws available if anybody is looking to use him. We have also been told his line is a great cross for Brett Lee bitches and sons of Brett Lee and it is working well in Australia. Anybody interested please go to Milldean Panther on his Facebook site. May we also take this opportunity to thank all the well-wishers who have wished us good luck and support over the last 18 months, there have been thousands of them. Many thanks to them all”.
