A 36-year-old boutique owner was recovering at Mayo General Hospital last night from injuries she received when hooded men attacked her at her home in Breaffy, near Castlebar...........

WTF is going on here.

It seems that the scum who carried this out think they can get away with anything.

once apprehended i have no problem if they are found hanging in a cell, (having committed suicide).

This woman is being literally tortured because her husband is good at his job.
This is hugely worrying, and it's down to specific gangs from the area, many who have vans.

Even as a critic towards 'Mericas gun laws, it is becoming the safe option to hold a gun in a rural home.

I'm from such an area, and while I and all my mates had grannies who lived alone, it is now inconceivable that our own mothers could do so.

I'm not one who says sosciety keeps getting worse but this aspect certainly does. You literally need a homeowner for burying a relative now, scary stuff.

All parts of this sociery need to help out here

I'd say it could, depends on the person. I've been randomly attacked and took no heed while a mate of mine got mugged and took it surprisingly hard.

Different folks react differently. What might seem like nothing to you could be horrific to someone else.

Being attacked like that in your own home - the one place where you feel most secure, is something you don't just get over. Not everyone is made of steel. I'd imagine it could lead to all sorts of phobias and depression. To think otherwise is just plain naive on your part.

His was just a mugging, and he just got punched in the neck. Had he taken a severe beating I've no idea how he would've taken it.

People do react differently and do have breakdowns over it.

People can develop PTSD after car accidents, it's not a stretch to believe someone could get it from being targeted and victimised in a brutal assault.
