Staff has Pups at 8 years of age! The Father was 10!!

Coco the Staff (8) from the flat below me achieved that unlikely feat a few days ago and wait for the punchline....The father is 12 years of age!

No light whatsoever in a council ground floor flat so I had to use flash but I didn't aim it at the pups and used a diffuser as I pointed it away.














Note the Nike logo!

She had 2 pups in total and the Mother is going up to the vets to double check that there is no more left inside the mother.

I think there are merits to using older male dogs to breed particularly in breeds such as CKC's. If you have an older male with no breed health issues or inherited disease, his progeny may also be healthier.

You might want to sand down/trim the tips of the puppies nails so they don't hurt the mother when they are looking to feed.

Sorry, but I really don't think an 8 year old Staffie having puppies is something to celebrate.
Why is she being bred so old?
There is a huge surplus of Staffies in this country as it is.

Sorry if it seemed like I was glorifying the mothers age it was no intention of mine.
There were only 2 Pups born and both are already taken...
I live in a very working class flats complex (poor) and I think we lead a different life to what most people would normally expect or would expect....if you note my name I am pro animal welfare but the woman whose Staffie bred I know a long time and I actually let her know that in Dog years 8 years is the equivalent of old age...
I was just happy as a personal friend that the births were successful....sorry if u and others were offended...
Back to reality, as a strict veggie there are many things I am unhappy about in this world when it comes to animals but in certain areas and obviously foreign countries you are going to come across things that don't quite match our expectations of what they should be....
As I said to a Mod if people feel uncomfortable I have no issues about the thread being locked, I will take into accounts peoples concerns about the Dogs that I posted and maybe not use this particular forum.
I can assure everyone that Mother and the 2 pups are doing exceptionally well.

Hi Janer.
The thing about this forum is if you say you want to get a dog then you are told to rescue.
If you want to bred from a dog you are told there are too may and go rescue.
If you want a pure bred you are told rescue or pay huge for IKC/health check/hip score and on and on.
Also all puppies should be neutered asap.

If like for like and this was a parent forum people would be told not to have kids and adopt from poor counties.

I'm not going to get into an argument with you about why your sweeping post is unfair on a number of levels.
However, I will say that if you have a problem with posts, e.g. if they breach the forum charter or are offensive, then report them, or start a discussion in the feedback forum about what changes you'd like to see, rather than grousing about things the way you are here.
Alternatively, if you don't agree with the general mood and trend of this forum, remembering that most people give the advice you're criticising here because they are concerned about animal welfare, then don't use the forum.
I had been giving this thread the benefit of the doubt, and may I point out Dodd, that there was only one negative post made out of all the posts which were positive and pleasant, because your post is inflammatory and needlessly critical to every user of this forum, I have little choice but to prevent the maelstrom which will occur when others read your post.
