All of which are progressive liberal democracies. It would be quite nice to walk all over Bobby Sands though.

Why would it be nice to walk all over bobby.

Does it cross the river from D'Olier street? D'Olier bridge?

EDIT: Prob Hawkins St. Hawkins Bridge has no ring to it.

A bridge really needs to be named after a female in this city. It's pretty disgraceful that we don't have one bridge named after a woman.

    How does that bloody matter?

Pass over worthy people to push your agenda? Hmm, no thanks.

As a non-Dub I think there are two outstanding candidates

    1. Det. James 'Lugs' Brannigan, legendary Garda (mentioned previously)
    2. Con. James Sheahan who died nearby in the course of his duty. His statue is temporarily removed from the Hawkins Street side of the river but will be reinstated in due course.

I think it should be named the Magdalene Bridge.

    Lest we forget!!!

Thanks you, I was just about to go Google his name to suggest :)

    I'd go for:

    Rory Gallagher Bridge

    Or

    Dr. Noel Browne Bridge

As far as any rules about people being invalid for consideration, I think that's a load of nonsense if a person is deserving.

I don't think either were Dubs.

It's a newspaper poll, a populist newspaper too so it's results aren't surprising.

Hamilton didn't make the shortlist unfortunately but for me, Ernest Walton is just as good.
