Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Shane Long is on fire tonight.

    Sick flick from Long there.

Mclean's more predictable than Arjen Robben.

Need Hoolahan on for Sammon at ht. Can def win this game

This lot are not conforming to type unfortunately and are playing like the home team.

We have been thrown a lifeline - dont waste it now (with an error from O'Shea which is what I fear most).

He has no where to go though. No midfielder is looking for him, no surprise it's Whelan's side though.

First successful long ball is won by Long, LOL.

More good pressure from Ireland! Great delivery by Long and then McLean. It's so measured, and not just hoofed in hail mary style.

    We're playing better now.
    Put them under pressure lads.

Some decent play there, some great work from McClean.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,641 ✭✭✭andyman

I think McClean's been good these last few minutes. Chasing everything and has been putting in a few good crosses.

Question, has anybody else just remembered Robbie Keane isn't playing?

    Get ball
    cut inside.

Seems pretty similar to me. Obviously one is far better at it than the other.

    Decent play now.

Wish posters here would realise that games ebb and flow and teams don't dominate all the time.

He never said they were similar players, he said they were both very predictable.

McClean putting some great ball into the box; would like to see Sammon getting on the end of them more than Long when delivered from out the field.

Enjoying the odd Fuchs mentioned in the commentry. Bring back Stefan Kuntz and we could have a right good game.

McCarthy has a great influence on Whelan too - his style encourages Glenn to play more football.

Whelan's 50/50 just there was the exact same as McCarthy's. Whelan, quite rightly, isn't called as a foul yet McCarthy's was because the other lad hurt his leg.
