Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Long has been immense, far ahead as our number 1 striker, no doubt about it.

I am absolutely delighted for Walters, showed great character and leadership with the penalty considering missing a few for Stoke this year, nerves of steel. Also showed his strength with his second from a great Whelan cross.

McClean has improved alot as games gone on with some great crosses.

I would like to commend John Delaney for taking Trap to one side when things were not looking so good and mentoring him and the result is a team with only 2 of the regulars from the Euros and Sexy football.

Just got in the door to see Ireland's second goal.

Facebutt is full of people praising the first half. Hopefully we have an equally as good second half.

Take off a forward and get another midfielder on, park the bus and hope we can hang on for the win.

So what are we saying? The team is openly defying the managers instructions?

Are people being tongue in cheek here?

Dunphy has a a bit of an obession with Houlihan. We could be 3 or 4 up and he would still be saying we need him. Yes he is a good player and should come on in the second half sometimes. But there is something to be said for keeping the team the same for a bit of time

Sammon's improving as the game goes on.

If Dunphy proclaimed all to be fine, he'd be out of a job.

Mcclean is filling duffers shoes excellently, its not the best side weve ever had but it has lots of potential

This has nothing to do with the team ignoring the manager. This is simply a case that Trap has noticed some of the genuine talent that's available to them and has altered the way we play so that we continue to play to our strengths. There's a massive different between having McCarthy instead of Andrews in midfield, Coleman/Wilson instead of O'Shea/Kilbane at full back and Long instead of Keane/Doyle upfront. There's more technical ability there than there used to be.

    Preferable an Irish one.

Long's performance should have him starting irrespective of Keane from now on.

Trap can't be anything but impressed.

Long is having the game of his life.

Keane should be finished at this level. Hasn't got it anymore.

Would be nice for Long to get a goal, he only has one competitive goal for Ireland.

    I believe so, yes.

After all, and side containing James McClean can't be this intelligent.

    Momentum going back to Austria.

We're living dangerously at the moment.

Should being the important word, probably won't happen.

I think we need to strengthen our midfield. The Austrians are getting back into this.

    Great atmosphere

Stand up for the boys in green..

This is much better stuff from Ireland. Trap can pick who he likes so long as his team plays with this kind of verve and enthusiasm.
