Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lads I'd say we could well be in trouble here with this crowd, if someone like Weimann can't get in the team they must be handy enough no?

1-0 Ireland, goal coming off Sammons arse.

    COME ON!!!

They only do their research as far as the Premier League, they latched onto Alaba because he plays for Bayern.

It was poor against Sweden too, Dunphy said something along the lines of "Olsson for Blackburn and there are a few other Chapionship players too". Olsson was the West Brom player and there was one other lad who played in the Championship.

His Brother? Blackburn Olsson, can't remember his first name

Player for Player Austria are better than us, we should be worried and I don't feel like people respect them enough. A draw would be a big result, these guys might be more dangerous than Sweden.

Your right was just about the post this. I spent 5 minutes researching them the other day on google, which appears to be five minutes more than the "panel".

No players in a second tier team, few players in the champions league. Its an uphill task for us today.

I wish more of our players would test themselves in mainland europe, though its understandable why they dont (family etc)

Didn't even mention Fuchs who they'd have footage on from the knockout round of the champions league this. Not even comprehensive within their own narrow comfort zone.

I really hope we scrape a 1-0 tonight. I'm worried about Sammon starting but fairly happy with the rest of the team.

It definitely would be good for us, being a technically lacking team that are disciplined, strong and with a bit of pace is the English system in a nutshell. We'll never be the full package without spreading our players to different academies and leagues.

There is Martin and Marcus at Blackburn, both Swedish but neither were in the squad.

Jonas Olsson of West Brom played.

People taliking about this as a must win are way off the mark.

A win would be great naturally but this is really a "must not lose". Ourselves, the Swedes and the Austrians will be locked in a mini group for 2nd. 4 home and away draws agaimst our direct rivals, and then beat all the mimmows home and away - that should be the plan.

Lose tonight and we are out of the mini group - must not let that happen.

Great atmosphere here in Lansdowne Road.

Come on ye Boys in Green! :D

Yep, must remember that Austria have already dropped 2 points to Kazakhstan. Sweden might have gained 1 to Germany but we still get to play them at home. 2 draws against Austria would be fine, we've always made playoffs by hanging in there and let someone else knock out the competition.

Will people get off Sammons back

He is actually Irish.(as opposed to a few England rejects in the team)

He was top scorer in Scotland a few years back.

He has made only 2 appearances so far for Ireland.

He came from the League of Ireland.

    Give the lad a chance.

As for Whelan and Green, they are another story.

Whelan plays at premier league level, that's alot higher than sammon.
Sammon plays at same level as green which is not much.

Uugh. Listeing to Brian Kerr on 2fm is going to be painful.

Austria have a centre called 'Pogo-thatch' apparently.

    Long is such a nuisance. Doesn't give a defender a split-second

More hoofing than usual. The ball will come down with snow on it one of these times.

Few useless long balls already, hopefully it won't be as such all night.

Ireland playing some really aimless hoof balls these past few minutes.

    Blasphemy.

Brian was amazing behind the mic during the Euros.

Would listen to him every day of the year ahead of Ronnie ****ing Whelan.
