As someone who usually only bets on the National and who knows very little about horses I find this site useful. It will list their predicted top six finishers closer to the race. I bet about €100 on five or six horses every year and from memory I would have made a small profit overall taking their guide as an indicator.

Thought I heard alot about a horse called 'best bob'. It was either going to be the Irish National or the Grand National for him, but nearest I can see on the form Guide is 'Rare Bob'. Shows what I know.

Apart from him, maybe 'Sea Bass' and 'Imperial Commander'.

Their prediction has just been named as follow:

    1st – Rare Bob

    2nd – On His Own

    3rd – Imperial Commander

    4th – Chicago Grey

    5th – Cappa Bleu

    6th – Soll

Cappa Bleu came second last year, and I see it behaving somewhat like Suny Bay in the late 1990s. It will come close, but something else in the right age and weight will beat it.

Posted this on the main gambling page but probably get more views here.

Bet 365 refunding half stakes on all each way bets placed between today and noon Saturday on National up to €125. Great offer. Effectively a free matched bet
