How to remove....

Dumb question of the day. We have one of these lights in work, which as you can see has blown after 11 years long service.

We've poked, pulled, twisted, pressed (and other obscene gestures) and none of us can figure out how to remove it. The bit just above the burn mark looks like it might be some sort of release, but doesn't seem to do anything.

Does anybody have any experience with these? Does it just need brute force?

Should just pull down straight out of it.

Pull from the center plastic part. It clips into a plastic socket behind it. Be careful of the glass
