Steelers @ Titans

Well sports fans...

After the Steelers robbed the Titans in a dark alley last year, they come to Music City and the Titans are preparing to blast them with the 6 string!

Steelers have 700 more yards in total, Titans have the edge in rushing being + 300 yards however the Steelers and Big Ben have the edge in passing with +1000 yards!

Titans D is a big more porous allowing 3600 yards compared to 3000 yards for the Steelers. Steelers have over double the sacks that the Titans do.


Lets do a positional analysis:

QB
Locker has throw a lot of ints and less yards than Ben... this is a victory for Ben no doubt.

HB
MCKoy is productive but he's not a game changer, he has 11 TDs from 470 yards, Norwood has 6 TDs from nearly 900 yards.
C2J has nearly 1400 yards (he missed 4 games too), 8 Rushing TDs but also 7 receiving TDs.
Former Detroit man Leshoure has 6 TDs from 340 yards.
Titans have the edge here.

FB:
Hester is used as a catching back(5 TDs) while Leach is a run block man.
Given the impact Leach has had on the run game and the fact he's a former Raven i will go with Leach here.

WRs:
Mike Wallace is head and shoulders above anyone the Titans have, 1600 yards, 13 TDs, Antonio Brown is no slouch and he has 8 TDS.
The Titans WRs have 7 TDS between them.
No contest here, the Steelers are clear winners.

TE:
Cook has 500 yards and 4 TDs, Miller has 200 yards and 1 TD.
Cookie wins here.

DE:
At LE Steelers have a big advantage with 8 sacks to the Titans 1. At RE its even.. but Wimbley likes to force Safetys!
Steelers win this.

DT:
General bad a$$ Suh has 8 sacks but less tackles than Melton, the Steelers DT's dont seem to do a whole lot..
Advantage Titans.

Linebackers:
Timmons is a beast with 57 tackles, 2 sacks, 4 ints and a FF along with a defensive TD. witherspoon isnt far behind with 50 tackles, 1 sack, 4 ints and a defensive TD.
Looking at the spread of tackles, ints etc this seems pretty even but then Harrison swaggers in with 16 sacks :eek:
Advantage Steelers!

Cornerbacks:
On paper the Titans should have one of the best CB groupings in the league but they arent performing to that elite level.
Croamrtie, McCourty and Finnegan with 2 from Buchanon have a total of 9 ints. Mike Jenkins alone has 8.

However it seems that while the Steelers CBs are all about the big play (5 Vs 2 defensive TDs) the Titans are making hits with 130 tackles to 100, Titans CBs have 7 sacks 5 of those from McCourty, Titans force 2 fumbles to the Steelers 0.

This seems even enough, but one thing is clear if Locker sends the ball to the CBs to often it will get picked off. Titans CBs will need to be physical and prevent the catches by hitting hard.

Safeties:
At free safety Griffin and Clark are neck and neck but Griffin is tackling a little more being + 10, however Clark is hitting that big harder and has 2 FFs
at SS Troy P is showing his age :P with less tackles that Babineaux, both have 4 ints


The Decision
Steelers have the edge no doubt.
Better QB and WRs by a long way... what does this mean for the Titans?
It means that Johnson and Leshoure will see a lot of the ball as the Titans try to control the clock. Finnegan and Cromartie will really need to step it up and force some turnovers aswell. However due to the fact the Titans are still miffed about last seasons game... Its Titans all the way baby!!

PS... Mikey do not fcuking injure anyone on me this week with that big hitter trait!

Mike... please injure as many Steelers as possible!

Don't do a whole lot? how about get more tackles? which means run stopping? Melton and Keisal are not there to pass rush. That's what Harrison, Kahlbuto and Osi are there for. That's right Osi is back from injury for this one.
