Tom Vaughan-Lawlor is the Love/Hate fan favourite as he's inundated with attention while filming the new series of the RTE show

King Nidge really does rule the silver screen. Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, who plays Nidge on Love/Hate has emerged as the runaway star of the show - at least, according to the fans.

RTE's top crime drama is currently filming its fourth series at various locations throughout Dublin, and the cast and crew have been fighting off fans as they try to film. But in between takes, the cast members are revelling in their newfound star status.

The programme's resident baddie is back with a bang in the upcoming series, however all details of the scripts are being kept under lock and key. Each of the actor's have signed confidentiality agreements promising to keep tight lipped on plot lines until the show airs.

Production on the fourth season of the series is to continue until late April and sees the return of Peter Coonan, Charlie Murphy, Killian Scott and Susan Loughnane, who won an IFTA for her work as a drug addicted prostitute on the show.

Audiences have also confirmation that Scott's character, Tommy, wakes from his coma, and we've seen newly blonde Aoibhinn McGinnity embracing her new look.

Scott was seen with co-star Coonan (Fran) as they filmed a raid scene. Both actors wore dark clothing and covered their faces with balaclavas.

So far, the 'Love/Hate' crew have been spotted shooting scenes in an estate in Walkinstown, as well as at a closed down garda station in Whitehall. The station was one of the first across the state to be closed due to a reduction in the force's budget and officially ceased all operations on April 29, 2012.

It is enjoying a new lease of life as Vaughan Lawlor and his colleagues take over its empty rooms in the coming days.

Nidge has caught the imagination bigtime! :)
