Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've had the pleasure of driving one . My uncle had one for a few years. Gorgeous to look at, but not comfortable to drive. Now I'm an odd shape, but still. NOt fast by today's standards either, but in fairness who gives a fook, just look at it. :)

+1000, though a brake servo would be nice and the running costs? Good jesus. A service will set you back tens of thousands and driveshafts and clutches last pissing time.

+1000. How quickly we forget. Damn fine car. Very pointable. Makes a hero of even the crappiest driver. Lancia Delta integrale another. Audi Quatro yet another. Real point to point mad bastard cars. I'd throw in the Mitzi Evo too, especially the earlier models, before they got fat. Ditto for the Scoobies. Ditto for the various Honda Type R's.

I'd add a couple of early Lotus' into the mix for good measure.

I have it! After a bit of thinking It would be a group B Audi quattro because it sounds like hell is about to erupt out of the engine at any given second, and for the time it was waaaaay ahead of anything, plus it makes me happy to look at :)

gona watch me some youtubes :D

well perhaps they look like a scarab beetle taking a sh1t (I kind of like the look of them despite this)

but they are undeniably an engineering masterpiece and an exercise in automotive excess aren't they? I think they are great

they have a w16 engine man....c'mon, w16 thats two, count them two narrow angle v8s effectively bolted together side by side....W16 W16 there are radiators all over the thing just to keep it adequately cooled...cmon.......and the sound...oh the sound even through crappy youtube vids and tv shows you just know its orgasmic -

fastest street legal production car at the time, maybe still? (maybe not hardest accelerating [where the real fun is ill grant you - just before handling])

in true one off we will probably never see the like of this again, it will go down in history style they cost more to produce than they can sell for and the pricetag is pretty hefty giving them some sort of mystique

these will be the incredible barn finds of the future when someone dusts off a now almost extinct veyron thats been under a tarp for a hundred years and it goes to the equivalent of a sothebys etc auction and sells for their equivalent of a couple of million

its all chromey and silvery and expensive and cheap and tatty at the same time etc inside like a cross between a strip club designed to be wiped down with minimum effort and a modern castle of some sort

their own type and size of tyres that had to be specially designed for them so they could transfer all the torque from the engine to the road without the tyre getting shredded

and all GPS systems have had to have software updates that take into account the position of each and every veyron and what direction they are travelling in so they can factor in how the torque generated retards the rotation of the very earth itself and thus throws of your directions

ah I could rant on incoherently forever....i want one I want one I want one want want want

VAG sales mumbo jumbo at its finest. To service it two guys have to fly in from Germany taking with them a dead ordinary oil filter in a silver briefcase with a foam cut-out in the form of the oil filter.

The other lad heads down to the local motor factors for a drum of 10W-40

They're small, zippy, light on fuel and look pleasant, I think. What's not to love.:D

I doubt Volkswagon would describe their little project as looking like a beetle taking a sh1t in fairness

or the interior as looking like a strip club...............

if it was their finest sales mumbo jumbo I'd be working for them or seriously worried about the quality of their product
