Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Run the diagnostics to find out what the error code is. On that model (provided it is 1.6 or 1.8 petrol, I dunno about the other models) you remove the little cubbyhole under the dash on the drivers side where the fuse box is. Above the fuse box you'll see the diagnostic socket, use a paper clip to short pins 4 and 13 (the pin numbers run from top left). Turn the key to the "on" position and the airbag light will flash the error code at you. If it's error code 44, the light will flash four times, pause, then flash four times again. It'll then go out for a few seconds and repeat the error (unless there's more than one). There's pdf manuals for the mk1 avensis here, look in the "diagnostics" manual from page 150 (I think) and it'll tell you what the code means and what sensor/component to repair/replace

You could bring it to a garage or auto electrician either! Good luck either way!

Edit: The filenames in the link refer to: 4AFE (1.6), 7AFE (1.8), 3S-FE (2.0) or 1CD-FTV (2.0 "Daysul"), the T22 manual is the one you're looking for.

Have to problem diagnosed and repaired....or leave it an not pass any more NCT's and not have any safety system if you have an accident, thats about the only options I can think of.
