    Hello just wondering does anyone fish cloongee on the moy. would it be worth a go this weekend where can you get day tickets and how much. its spinning and worming id be doing or is it a bit early to be worming thanks

    You can get the permits in Tiernan brothers shop in foxford.
    I don't think there has been anything caught up that far yet, very few fishing I would say yet as it's still early.
    Spinning or worming, you never know.

    thanks username would further down towards Ballina be better any advice appreciated or is it just pot luck this time of the year

    Still early in the season but you'd always have a chance although a slim one.
    Keep an eye on the sites below and have a look back through the old fisheries reports to judge when the best times are.
    Low water at the moment will keep the fish in the lower beats plus the cold winds don't help either.
    One thing for sure is that you will not catch anything on the internet, although it is much more comfortable at the moment.

    Water quite low for time of year.
    Keep an eye on the salmon fishing forum, and the tiernan bros website.

    thanks for yere help ventured down sunday . very cold day headed for rinnaney knew id find a bit of shelter on some of the bends.seems to be an awful lot of kelts still in the river caught three spinning all in very well mended. got another fish it was very hard to tell if it was a kelt or not it only weighed about 3 pound no sign of lice on it and it seemed to have a solid stomach but i still couldnt tell so i released it to be on the safe side

    Great wee stretch cloongee is but i think they need to drop the prices for the tickets. I think 35€ would be reasonable for a full days fishing seeinh as were in these bad times. Im near sure they charge 25-30€ for a half day :( in my opinion, thats crazy. I would say that theyre not going to get the numbers on the river like previous years with these prices
