I am a HSE worker, and am due for compulsory retirement at 65 next year 2014. As the State retirement age is now 66, why do I have to 'sign on' for a year before being allowed my retirement pension, while I may well be "available for work" the chances of work being available for me at 65 are slim to say the least, surely this is an anomaly that has to be addressed? I welcome thoughts from other '49rs .
