Whenever I turn the lights on in a room, a loud pitched noise starts to sound in the room. It disappears when the light is turned off.

Any idea what could be causing this?

    Cheers :)

It uses this lightbulb (6 in the room)

There is no dimmer switch, just a normal light switch.

how many bulbs and can you get up and identify the problem one

the pic you shown is a gu10 bulb
you may have low voltage ones

possibly a faulty transformer in the ceiling

There is 6 bulbs, I have taken one out at a time and turned on the switch but the high pitched noise till occurs. None of the bulbs in the room are low voltage bulbs, all of them are the same make (came in the same box) and look the same as the one in the pic.

Those thing are a right pain to take out/ put in. Broke one when taking it out :o

But thankfully found one which must have being causing the noise. I will replace it when I get another bulb.

    Cheers meercat :D
