Before this is closed and to stop everyone asking, if you want drink tomorrow:

    1. Buy now (before 10pm). The shops are waiting for you.

    2. Travel by train (40km or more), plane, or ferry.

    3. Go into international waters. Again, you'll probably be on the ferry, from point 2 anyway.

    4. Go to a theatre (a playhouse). Who knows? You may actually like what's on offer. Plus, you'll look a lot smarter.

    5. Book a hotel room (If you bring someone with you, you'll appear a lot classier.)

    6. Go to a racetrack (Harold's Cross, etc.).

    7. Head to a drinking establishment after 12am.

    8. Know a fella, who knows a barman, who allows you to paint the walls and work for the day, and who pays you in pints, under the table. Let that barman also tell you that you are desperate and a disgrace. Laugh in their face with your Guinness in hand.

Sure theres no meat in them - just sawdust

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Did anyone remember to tell the stag parties from the UK this year?

One of my favorite Good Friday activities is strolling through Temple Bar on a friday afternoon to amuse myself by watching the hoards of bewildered Brits shambling about the streets dressed up in fairy wings and L-plates, slack jawed with stunned, uncomprehending faces that suggest they might believe that they have wandered through the looking glass into an alternative universe in which Ireland is a dry and sober nation.
Some can be seen sobbing in the gutters, overwhelmed by inhumanity of it all while others go into survival mode and stalk about attempting to meet the challenge of this alcohol barren wasteland like Bear Grylls, filtering last night's spatted vomit from the gutters through the tights he's wearing in an attempt to distill from it whatever alcohol that might be gleaned....

That reminds me of the time I was out visiting my grandfather in law round Christmas about nine years ago (see edit). He was passing out the whiskey and I didn't want to be getting too drunk and make a bad impression, etc.

I spotted a bottle of 7UP beside his armchair, "Aye, try some of that in it" he says.

Fùcking blew the tonsils off me! :pac:

What was in the 7UP bottle only poitin, and me thinking it was just flat 7up! :D

"Drink some water now in the morning and you'll be drunk again" he says!

Gas man, dead now but even on his last night in the hospital he'd a woodbine in one hand and a can of Guinness in the other! :D

EDIT: My wife just informed me her grandfather is dead about seven years! How the fcuk I remembered it like it was only two years ago... never was much good with time anyway! :o

Yes, they can. I know a few places in Dublin City centre Town did it last year.

Although I wonder why you'd go to a club with about 2.5 hours left, 10 euro in and 7 euro a drink

Just to poke the fish in the eye. :D
