that type of abuse, the wrong time and way to protest about water charges, these peoples actions are pure idiotic. They were protesting outside Waterford Crystal last year and i confrnted one of them saying that they are putting off tourists and his response was that this is the way to get noticed. They got noticed alright and 99% of people noticed that they are a bunch of morons who havent developed a balanced opinion. The socialist workers; embarassing laughing stock and their actions do more harm than good.

the media would of jumped all over it if coffee was thrown at him.

if it was a FG led protest..you can be damn sure sully wouldnt tolerate hear say posts in regards to threats and coffee throwing.

From someone spitting to a cup of coffee being thrown and now it was only a splash of coffee the plot is thickening. Sadly the only way for a protest to get noticed is, you have to make sure that the media will be present and what better place to be seen while Enda is on a walk about. I say sadly because it looks ugly but then again if everybody is smiling and waving at Enda sure he will only say look at how popular I am and the point of the protest is lost. These put downs by people that don't agree with those who are protesting calling them morons saying they are destroying our image I say there are plenty of our celtic tiger flash boys who have done a very good job there already.
Now the people without a voice are trying to be heard and they are treated like scum. George Bernard Shaw once said " Put an Irishman on a spit and you will always get another Irishman to turn him.

A local journalist stated that the threats of violence was made. The remark was made on their private Facebook page. The individual isn't pro FG or Labour.

They can surely moderate the comments and remove them? I'm not sure what exactly happened, but this is what was being said along with the accusation of being spat at which the Guards said was false.

Agreed the save waterford moderators can remove the comments and the original poster who posted the video on facebook but they cant be blamed for single comment people might make.

She didn't get much of a sympathy vote anyway, that's for sure

Just looked over a lot of comments on helens facebook page from some threads on there-here is just a sample of a lot of comments from people in her area what they had to say-and we are asked to believe its not a sympathy vote?

Well all I know is that if I 'was' thinking of setting up down here that carry on would make me think twice if there was a 50/50 with another location......Bad press lads, bad impression of the place.....whatever your political persuasion shouldn't come into it in this type of situation.

The idea that protests are unique and restricted to waterford only is false-ministers and tds are met by protests in different towns/countys all the time-

That's really played out at this point. FF dipped their toes in the water. FG plunged headlong.

    Please explain?

Seriously i dont know why so many are getting bothered bout that facebook page. Like that page reminds me of the upthedeise waterford gaa facebook page, a shower of soft cnuts banging on about stuff they think they know about but know nothing about.... a shower of nothings who choose when to enter a state of retirement in 08 09 10 11 or 12 when they lost their jobs in the glass etc, it would be alien to dem to look for jobs in cork or dublin cos they'd have to work if they landed one

They should be pitied more than anything.

there were less than 20 protesting and an entourage of around 40 gardai some armed some plainclothes so this "announcement" must have cost a fair pretty penny , whats a cop on around 20 quid a hr from 8am to 1pm when kenny on tour left thats costing around 5-6 grand not bad for a bankrupt gov.

    The
allegation about coffee throwing is brought up again, we all remember
the girl who threw paint at mary harney was arrested right on the spot
with her photo inside a squad car plastered around the media, yet
someone is alleged to have thrown coffee at enda and no arrest is made
nor the persons photo splashed around the media, the allegation is
nothing more then a smear attempt.

never mind what it says about the "leader" of the country needing that much protection, they know he will get the same reception wherever he goes which in itself says an awful lot.

still though...... "splashes" of coffee LMFAO :D

All we're listening to is "it was FF's fault' Yep. It was. Now get over it and get off the pot or pi$$. "The big boy did it Mammy".

FG/Lab were elected on a platform of lies. They have sold this country into economic and financial servitude for generations to come. They are no better than FF.

Well considering you suggest that we can survive without the markets and the bailout "FG/Lab committed the Irish people to financial servitude for years to come" when they had nothing to do with the agreement and actually got it changed in parts.

Which parts Sully. The "not one red cent" part? Or some other part?

Do enlighten me as to where exactly I said the business were 'cheerleading the economy'? Or where did I say in any shape or form that these business were positive about it? Shouldn't be putting words out there that people didn't say.

You're the one who said you work with retailers and that there are "signs of recovery" Cheerleading if ever there was. And you go on about FG "diehards" earlier in this thread? What does that make you?

albert kidd; Witnesses say they heard violence, there was threats of violence on Facebook, and the Gardai confirmed that there was at least 'splashes' from the coffee.

Ah, now we're getting somewhere. So it's "splashes" now?
