Hi Im looking to transfer 2tb of blu ray from one external hd to another , do i always have to use the laptop in the middle of the chain as it will take ages

I really can't see any other way, but when your doing it do 400GB at a time or less

If you have a desktop PC with two spare SATA connectors, you may remove the drives from their enclosure and clone them directly, other than that, you have to let it run its course. Transferring 2 TB via USB 2.0 takes about 44 hours.
