Anyone using their wildcard this week to take advantage of the DGW 33 around the corner?

Plan was to get rid of Lambert for Berbatov but may need to reassess after today's game.

Waiting until After the United/Chelsea game anyway.

I'm really stumped as to what to do with my defence atm, I have Rafael and Evans atm, and despite a CS for Man United, both get me 1 point each.. highly frustrating.. who is looking like a nailed on starter for them? Vidic and Evra look like consistently get their game, with Evra being an exception lately..

Nastasic, Debuchy, Harte, Mata and Walcott didn't start for me today. Got a lot to think about! Won't have much DGW players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,158 ✭✭✭G1032

Probably going to go Enrique out and Koscielny in. Looks like he's keeping his place in the Arsenal defence and is often good for a goal. DGW coming up aswell.

Pointless even looking at transfers until after tomorrows games. The United/Chelsea winner will make a massive difference.

    Cole out, Mert in.

Dawson out, not sure for who yet, possibly a Fulham defender.

Do you think he's the best option in the Arsenal defence?

Wenger seems to love Mertesacker so he should play mostly. Overall Id say Koscielny is actually our best centre-back, Vermaelen is overrated for attacking contributions in the past.

He seems to be the most guaranteed starter. Monreal is probably good bet, but Gibbs is there too. Don't think I'd be banking on Sagna, Jenkinson, Verm or Kos.

I'm looking at Mata OUT, Santi IN. Will wait until later in the week though, Cazorla shouldn't rise until Wed. Can see Mata being rested next week or coming on for a 1 point cameo, too risky to hold him imo. Then Sissoko to Fellaini next week when he should have dropped to £7.3 or lower. Would give me the following DGW'ers:

    De Gea
    Evra
    Baines
    Fellaini
    Walcott
    Santi

I might be forced into a points hit because Bale, Michu and probably Harte won't have a GW. And it would mean me being forced into playing Samba who is away at Everton. I'd swap Harte out for Hughes or Baird if either was guaranteed a place.

Will be a massive risk not having RVP/Rooney for the DGW but I can't see how I can fit them in. Liverpool play Reading that week too so dumping Suarez is a massive risk. RVP's performance over the DGW could make or break my season!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,158 ✭✭✭G1032

I have just sold Davies and bought O'Brien. Money a big issue here as I hadn't money to get Mert or Koscielny despite my team being worth 112 million. Chr!st.

That leaves me with Bale and Michu not playing GW33 and De Gea, RVP and Santi and O'Brien for double.

Next week either Michu or Mata will have to go to fund a Lambert out Giroud in move.

Maybe Mata, Lambert for Giroud, Fellaini.

Surely Mata must be top of everyone's transfer list.

You would think but Rafa isn't the easiest to predict tactically. He seems to love rotation, even with his in form players. Personally I think Rafa doesn't give a toss about the league at this point and he'll be all guns blazing for both cups which may include resting Mata in some league fixtures.

can you afford the 4.6 to swap out harte for sagna?? would give you an extra dgw player and the extra game should cover the 4 point loss.

Cant see mata being rested much myself. They have to stay in the top 4. They had a bit of leeway with regard to that before the weekends results not anymore. Would be very surprised if mata didnt start atleast 7 of their 8 remaining league games.

    definitely.

    he's the only guaranteed starter.

Exactly. So he's top of everyone's transfer (OUT) list.

michu out would make more sense. Mata would have started at the weekend but for illness.

Please please don't tell me that Sagna costs just 4.6m. I've just bought O'Brien. Oh God. Ah well, it might work out for the best.

yeah he has dropped to 4.6, i wasn't sure if he'd come straight back in after his injury but he played the full 90 mins v reading on saturday.
you'd think over the 2 home games in the dgw v norwich and everton that arsenal should keep at least 1 clean sheet??
i'll almost certainly be bringing him in for harte.

    Sagna's not guaranteed a game.

I can't really see jenkinson pushing him for the place, seems to be Sagnas place while he's fit. I have jenkinson at the minute so ill have to see about getting him out

I'm in the same boat and considering Sagna is only back from injury I would not rule out them getting one game each !

Would suit me down to the ground if sagna picked up a wee niggle that kept him out for the dgw

When has Sagna ever not been played when fit? Think he was rested once?

exactly and he was recalled to a team that had just beat bayern and swansea away.Great value at 4.6.

I'm just going by the opinion in few other threads. Do you think he's pretty much guaranteed a game? If so, he's a bargain

Yeah I don't think he's ever been dropped, obv been injured a few times but has come immediately back in every time. As nailed on as can be going by the season to date.

gerrard or lampard for captain this week? someone decide for me.

I would Lamps isn't a guaranteed starter - Rafatation and all that. Gerrard probably the safer choice, but you'll have a better idea after thursday, Chelsea play again on thursday. I have Lamps myself, so hoping he doesn't play.

I'd like to bring in Sagna as even though his form isn't good the manager seems to pick him when he's available. Wenger will want a settled back 4 for his run in so if he keeps his place for next weekend I'd say he's a banker to play both games in the dgw. Problem is I'd like to get him in this week as I want to get Fellaini for the dgw, wouldn't be averse to taking a hit for that and I could save my transfer this week, decisions, decisions.

Is Smalling established in the United defence now?

He's played 90 mins in the last 3 games and they haven't conceded a goal.

no its just coincidence the way the fixtures panned out with cl fa cup internationals.Id say he will play one of the two dgw games at best.

Why would Lamps not be a guaranteed starter at this stage ? he has started the last 13 games in the league for Chelsea

Sturridge and Davies to Berbs and Sagna with 2 free transfers. Will probably do Mata and Michu to Fellaini and Cazorla next week for a 4 point hit leaving me with 7 dgw players.

Well, I suppose you're right, it is pretty probable that he will start. I just feel that, depending on which competition Chelsea are targeting, Rafa might choose to start him in Europe, and rest him in the PL. He has been rested in almost all of Chelseas cup games recently, I think.

So I think as a captain choice, he's probably not a good idea cos there's a bit of a risk there.

I really wanted to wait till the weekend to transfer Sturridge out for Berbatov but he is going up tonight . I could handle that but not another rise . How likely is that ?

i'd say he'll definetley rise again before the weekend, i'd imagine he'll rise .2 if not the full .3 after his recent performances and people gearing for the dgw.

did you mean you wanted to keep sturridge for the west ham game and then bring berbatov in or just wait until friday or saturday to do it incase there is any injuries?
if you plan on doing it before the 11:30 deadline on saturday i'd recommend just doing it now as berbatov will rise again and sturridge will most likely drop .1 before saturday.

Samba is going to be extremely fired up this weekend, he's been under attack for his wages etc since last night, I wouldn't be getting rid of him this week, if he doesn't perform I'd be happy to dump him then but I may have to wait another week.

i can see a big temptation to keep him for a home game to west ham but after them playing and winning without him he's not even guaranteed to start, personally i think he will but it's not nailed on. Berbatov plays against a fairly depleted newcastle defence and although it's away you'd still fancy fulham to score and usually berbatov is involved when they do score.

You'd probably be looking at a .3 swing if you keep sturridge, (berbatov rising .2 and sturridge probaly dropping .1) so if money is anyway tight in your squad i'd pull the trigger on it now, you have gerrard as cover from liverpool.

ifr sturridge did score 10+ points i doubt many people near the top of any leagus will still have him anyway.

Is anyone else looking at Gervinho as a possible transfer with the DGW in mind? He's 6.8, cheaper than Walcott who is lacking match fitness.

He's got 21 points in his last 3 games but sweet F.A prior to that! Just wondering if any Arsenal fans think he's worth a punt or will Theo be a shoe-in if he's fit?

Walcott is top scorer at the club. I can't see him being left out.

Gervinho played well at the weekend but it was against Reading who are woeful in defence.

    What's the latest on Walcott?

Might need to do the Cazorla transfer tonight as it looks like he'll probably go up.

for those keen on Berba this week...

    1) he's never been on a run of scoring like this. it's unlikely to continue.
    2) Fulham are generally shít away from home.
    3) Newcastle need to win, so will be fired up.

i'd get him in for the DGW, but IMO, this week is a bit too early if you haven't got him already.

i'll be keeping Sturridge this week, as I reckon he will at least start the next one. he'll more than likely be gone after that.

Agree with this. Fair play to whoever got him in for gameweek 27/28, it was a great move that has really payed off. Personaly i think it is a bit late to be getting him in now. Also one of his games in the double gameweek is Chelsea then followed by Arsenal and Everton.

If i was bringing him in it would be at the expense of Lambert who i think has really good fixtures on paper. All games Southampton can win except maybe Spurs.
