[April 4-7] UCD Air Open 2013

UCD Rifle Club is pleased to announce that we will hold the UCD April Air Open 2013, on Thursday 4th and Sunday 7th April at UCD Rifle Club Range, UCD, Belfield.

This is an open competition for 10 metre Air Rifle and Air Pistol.

Competitions:

• Air Rifle 60 shot
• Air Rifle 40 shot
• Air Pistol 60 shot

Class prizes will also be awarded (based on the first 40 competition shots).

Please note that this competition will be under the new ISSF timings (ISSF Rules and Regulations 2013 Edition Section 7.9).

15 minute combined sighting and preparation time.

Followed by:

50 minutes match time (40 shot competition)
or
75 minutes match time (60 shot competition)

No sighting shots can be shot during match time.

The decimal scoring proposal is being tried at world cups this year, so it's not an official rule yet. It may come in in 2014 then for good.

As It wasn't me! says, integer scoring for qualification is the current rule and decimal scoring is being tested in some competitions on a provisional basis. We're sticking with standard integer scoring for the time being.

We're not enforcing the new equipment or clothing rule changes; boots, jackets etc.

Dependent on numbers we'll run concurrent rifle and pistol finals after the 14:00 detail on Sunday.

UCDRC wishes to thank everyone who turned out during the two days of UCD April Air Open 2013, on Thursday 4th and Sunday 7th April.

Victoria Mullin from DURC took first place in the 60 Shot pistol competition with a fantastic score of 568, equalling her score in the February Air Open and the range competition record set by Peter Friend in October 2011. She was followed in second place by WTSC's Tomas Jakubauskas and Hui Yu from UCD in third.

In the 60 Shot rifle competition John Lancaster from UCD took first place with a score of 562, followed by Paul O'Boyle from WTSC in second and DURC's Michael Cullinan in third place. While in the 40 shot rifle competition UCD's Valesca Lima took the top spot.

Congratulations to all our winners and everyone who took part and we hope to see you again at the next event to be hosted in the UCD range, the NTSA Air Pistol and Air Rifle National Championships, which will be held on the 20th and 21st April.
