We've been using Euro notes and coins for 11 years  and some people are still going on about them as 'new' (especially in France!)

I keep getting French receipts with Francs on the end as a helpful reminder for people who can't adapt after more than a decade.

On the other hand, mobile phones and the internet have only been popular with the general public about 15 years or so. Seems much longer to me.

As a rule of thumb, if I can remember it happening it's recent, if I can't it's old. For example, I still think of The Santa Clause as a recent Christmas film (not new, but still recent) and probably always will, whereas I think of Santa Claus (Dudley Moore) as an old Christmas film because I've always known it as an old film, even though it was about 10 years old when I first saw it compared to the more recent one which must now be close to 20 years old.

i know the feeling i was watching the Simpsons new series where they go back to New York and Marge says "just once I'd love to see your father on a jumbotron for something good" that's when I thought 'but he did in the dancing homer episode' then the sinking realisation set in that the guys writing the episode are probably too young to even remember that episode :(

    The Wolverine isnt a prequel
Wolverine is a prequel. It's when he gets the adamantium skeleton and then loses his memory.

It's only 25 years since Telecom Éireann digitalised the last fully manual telephone exchange ! until may 1987 Mountshannon still had telephones that required a handle to be turned (no dials, no numbers on buttons),

Thought that would have been much longer ago!!

As much as we bitch and moan, we've come a long way from that to posting on boards on mobile broadband on your iPhone while deciding in whether to order a macchiato or a cappuccino

I thought the movie was a sequel to the 2009 movie aswell (but still being a prequel to the xmen movies)

But nope it's officially set after xmen 3. Thats probably better. Hate all this prequel crap :pac:

    11 years since Vice City

In my day we had proper wrestlers.

Wouldnt give Big Daddy the pleasure of being called a "wrestler" :pac:

Him, along with his brother, ran the promotion behind "World Of Sport" back in the day and it's wildly reported that they kept all the money to themselves. Paying most wrestlers scraps.

It's also a 'coincidence' that he was a top guy in the promotion he owned with his brother ;)
