    Sad news just being reported.

The dead child, who is believed to be around ten years of age, was found by a farmer sometime after 2pm.

    Edit:

    some further (albeit contrasting report):

he owner of the farmland made the discovery

The body of a young teenage boy has been found in a field in Swords in north Dublin. The remains were discovered by the owner of property there this afternoon.

Gardai are at the scene but it is unclear at this stage whether foul play is involved. The remains were found on farmland close to Balheary earlier.

The body was fully clothed and is believed to have been at the scene for a number of days.

The owner of the farm came across the remains around 500 meters from the road.

The boy is believed to be in his early teens and initial inspections of the body do not show signs of violence. Gardai have sealed off the area.

Officers are investigating whether foul play is involved.

I was only in that (approximate) area on Sunday playing football.

Thoughts are with that child's family at this time, whoever, they may be.

Whatever the cause, it's a horrible horrible situation but if it had to be anything I hope it is a tragic accident rather than "foul" play.

Big leap estimating age 10-14 to early 20's?

    Tragic nonetheless.
