I'm beginning to think that the mechanic was at least half right

Is it the fat bit or the bitch bit you refer to?

  • Registered Users Posts: 555 ✭✭✭bobdcow

cunninghams in clash, been to R and A up by alderwood road too happy out with them both

  • Registered Users Posts: 938 ✭✭✭Sully34

Yes indeed, we have no idea if encore is indeed a fat bitch, we had better let this one lie for a while

Speaking of moderaters. How can a poster get away with abusing another poster like this? It seems there is a select few on here who like to think they run things. Im not one for reporting bit even I am shocked by this. And shame on those who thanked his post

Didn't one of the Mods warn you a while back on here about stirring, and then flooding the mods with reports?

lads, why are you having a go at that woman for saying she had been seriously disrespected by a mechanic?? I don't blame her for posting it, I'd be fuming if he had spoken to me like this! what do you want her to do, post up a recording of the conversation?? she's giving her thoughts on a business & how she was treated, she could at least have a little bit of support! like some of you said, you don't know what happened, so don't treat her like she's the one at fault!

It would be nice to hear the other side of the story before jumping to conclusions!

if that mechanic was rude or indeed any other shop keeper to one of us I'd like to know, it can influence decisions about where to shop and not to.

on a positive note - my stomach can't hold alcohol i can get very sick, my old tipple of bulmers doesn't work anymore so I tried stella cidre which stays down thank god. went to an off licence was chatting to the lad working there as i was buying my stella, told him my tale of woe and he said to hang on a minute - he disappeared and came back with a beautiful stella glass and gave it to me, now this off licence is not near my home i have 2 closer to me but I and my wife still go to this one just because of his act of generousity.

If anyone asks for an offie - i send them there.

it costs nothing to be nice and you get it back 10fold at times.

Indeed, but posting about a business in Castleisland on the Tralee thread?

Kn was trying to make her aware of the dangers of defamation and she was quite hostile on her response.

The other responses to her were typically immature, nothing new there sadly.

It's a slow day, no mistake.

  • Registered Users Posts: 555 ✭✭✭bobdcow

I know it's a tralee thread but castleisland isn't that too far away - to be honest my favourite chipper is Den Joe's in castleisland - i ring at the earl of desmond it's ready when i'm there and fly away home with it - so I can see why she would mention a business there - just saying!

I agree you need to be careful when naming a business etc, it can be a bit dodgy, but I think she was just upset at having someone be so rude to her and she was a bit defensive, which I would be too! As you said the responses were were quite immature, no need for it really! Not helping gain new people posting on the boards!

To change the subject, did anyone go down to see the marathon today, or was anyone here running in it or have friends/family in it?? I've got it in my head that I want to do the half marathon now!! I've never done any running, so not sure how I'll get on!

  • Registered Users Posts: 555 ✭✭✭bobdcow

wasn't there myself my running days are over!! but if you want to do something isn't there a 10k for the rose of tralee?? and if you want a marathon there is a running group in castleisand 2 evenings a week training for the dublin marathon of 2015.

I forgot there's a 10k during the festival! I don't know if I'm going to be able for any running, I have a bad back from a car accident years ago & I don't know if running is going to be good for it! I would like to think I could do a 10k or a half marathon, but I don't know!!! kinda scares me :o

There seemed to be quite a few running. And the odd few walking too. And of course honerable mention must go to all the stewards, Red Cross people and refreshment providers during the race. There is the odd over zealous traffic steward out there though. Nazi style. You'd swear barrack o bama was in town.

    Who knows?

It certainly isn't a case worth loosing sleep over.

As a business person I am sure you would like the opportunity to post your version of events if you were defamed ?

I'm definitely not ruling it out! I do a great class with Maeve Frawley twice a week and its got my fitness back on track, so I might yet get out running ;)

still doesn't make it ok to call someone that! Just like its not ok for a customer to speak to someone in business like that...works both ways!

if you every get out running wear a distinctive hat and tell us so we can beep for support if we drive past you!! - my ever increasing belly and love of food makes it hard to motivate but a 5 of 10k would be nice to do!

It may be worth getting some advice from your GP or Physio. before embarking on a running campaign. If you get the go ahead, buy the best running shoes you can afford and enjoy the exercise. It can be great for the health and quite relaxing too

was actually thinking that myself, I will have to make sure I won't do myself any further permanent damage if I do start running!

i know a lad that spend 80 euro on runners and the coach laughed at him and told him it should be at least 120, poor lad has 2 pairs of runner now!!

but i think in manor in lifestyle they have a running booth so you can get a pair that fit you and your running style

Consider chatting with a Footcare Specialist too. It is important when you are running that you are not doing damage to other joints, ankles, knees, hips, back. There is a footcare specialist in Greenview Terrace , near Brandon Hotel
