There seems to have been an accident on the CBS-side of Fairies Cross, I hope everyone is alright. Garda car with flashing lights and an ambulance sitting in the entrance to the service station...

    hopefully no one was injured

Town was very busy today which was great to see. Paul Galvin was in Easons signing his book. Not sure the town being busy & him being in Easons are linked though Lol :)

Maybe if they started locking up a few of these ***** things would quieten down.

Let me predict what's going to happen.

Everyone involved in this will be up in court, represented on full legal aid. All with a different solicitor. Promise not to do it again, and the judge will release them straight away.

Until the next time they get pissed and decide to start knocking 7 lumps of ****e out of each other. And the process star s all over again.

Water has been flowing into the canal, AND back out again, that's the problem. The canal is now full of silt which has a lovely strong smell.
There was one gate removed and lying on the grass beside where they used to be operating. As of three weeks ago it still was, and it won't be an easy or cheap job to repair them.

If they are fixed then they can keep the water in it at low tide which will allow the rowing club to use it again. It was a disgrace that it went on for so long though. The section at the marina apartments looks shocking at low tide. I guess it will be covered up to some extent when the gates are closed, there's no hope of them dredging it again IMHO.

Did I also see a couple of new stores at the Horan Centre when I drove by in the rain last week while I was home? A chemist and butchers and one other I think.

The butchers is the Listowel fella that was in Eamonn O'Connell's on Castle Street so he has only moved.

Just read in Kerry's eye that there was a row in Penneys on Tuesday between a number of women & that metal bars used for hanging stock were used & blood was drawn! Crazy stuff!

The outer gates, jammed open since the winter storms, have indeed been repaired and are now able to open and close again.

The inner gates, which suffered the more severe damage and one of which remains removed and lying on the canal bank, have not and will not be repaired as there's no economic case for doing so in the absence of any traffic entering and leaving the canal.

The one set of gates is all that's needed to maintain the level of water in the canal.

It would seem that the aircraft pilots flying over Tralee forgot to release their Chemtrails with all the craziness that went on in Tralee last Tuesday. The Guards must have not known where to turn.
