They aren't really closing off the mall to taxis this year, and least they didn't last night. It was a disaster, people were dancing in front of the gig stage in front of Paddy Mac's, then traffic was trying to squeeze past and you could see it was getting messy.

I'd love to know what knob head thought up this idea.

Where would you could park overnight for the festival tomorrow?

    You could try the library.

You could park in one of the carparks around Boherbee, either the one beside Dom O'Donnell furniture, or Slatt's carpark which is the other side of the road, up the laneway. You will have to pay for parking after 8am I think, but it will be fine from 6pm until then.

the Disco can't start until after the Rose selection is finished & cleared, so it is probably only going to be on for a couple of hours.

Any advice for 3 girls for tonight going out so?

Any advice for 3 girls for tonight going out so?

most people will be in town and there will be 'Midnight Madness' after the Rose is crowned, with fireworks at about 12am or so. There's music on in Denny street, or the Square, or people just go to the dome. Quarters nightclub should be open too.

did anyone go to see Damien Dempsey & Sharon Shannon in Denny Street last night?
I would have loved to have gone, but I was working. Damien was scheduled to start at 8.30pm & a few people told me there was hardly anyone down there at that time. I don't know if he started later, but I hope there was a good crowd for him!

:D It is a full-on rant alright and it sounds like they could have handled it a lot better but it is sad to see the animals in that condition though if the 4th pig is what they are supposed to look like. I know nothing about pigs btw.

Ballyseedy's facebook page is now receiving loads of complaints!!

Last time I was there was a few weeks ago, & my husband did comment on how fat one of the pigs looked. They also don't seem to be keeping many ducks or geese there anymore. Its not being utilised as it used to be, seems to be a bit neglected from what I could see. It was a lovely idea when they started it, but I wonder have they lost interest in it now?

I'd say whoever wrote that is from the Maud Flanders school of hysteria and drama. Par for the course with these animal extremists though. All I'm seeing there is a lot of name calling, horrendous grammar, and 3 pictures of a pig sitting on his admittedly fat arse...

So yeah, not exactly what I'd consider a rational or balanced report.

Wasn't that place on TV in the past year

Feargal Quinn was giving them advice,

Why keep animals when your not going to look after them, makes no sense.

No not Fergal Quinn, it was a business show though, two business men were advising them. I can't remember their names. It was repeated about a month ago on RTE. They had serious debts at the time!
I love going there, they have a lovely set up, but no point having set up an area for some animals if its not going to be maintained properly. They have been reported to the animal welfare officer from what I can read from the comments, so who knows what will come of that!

Maria Walsh will take some beating.
That girl is incredible in my eyes.
    But, congrats indeed to Elysha!

There wasn't a mention of the Meath rose on the lead up to the show then she sky rockets and becomes favourite out of nowhere!

Maria Walsh has probably been the most popular Rose I can ever remember! I haven't met her, but anyone I know who has, said she is the nicest, most genuine person. A person I know who was at the Rose Ball Friday night, said she literally went from table to table, on her own, saying hello to everyone!
I overheard so many people during the parade comment on how lovely she is, and how she's the nicest Rose ever! She really has caught the hearts of people, and has done the town proud in my opinion!
