Terms and Conditions

Sony Europe Limited, The Heights, Brooklands, Weybridge, Surrey KT13 0XW, United Kingdom (hereinafter referred to as “the Promoter”) organises a free competition without any mandatory purchase, named “Sony Photography Competition” (hereinafter referred to as “the Competition”).

1. The competition opens on Tuesday 3rd April 2013 and will close Friday 12th April 2013. No entries will be accepted after this time.

2. The Competition is only open to residents of the Republic of Ireland and all participants must be aged 18 or over.

3. The Competition is not open to employees of the Promoter, its family members or its affiliates.

4. By entering the Competition, participants will be deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions, which may be amended or varied at any time by the Promoter.

5. No purchase is necessary to participate in the Competition. In order to be eligible to enter the Competition participants must post a photograph taken by themselves based on the theme “Step into the Light”. They must provide details of when and where the photo was taken along with their name, phone number and address. All participants who do this and provide their contact details will be eligible and automatically entered in the Competition.

6. All participants who have sent in their Photograph with the correct details will be entered into the competition. Sony will select a final winner from all the entries will be selected to win the trip for two to the Sony World Photography Awards & the NEX3N camera.

7. The winner must be free to travel on April 25th and 26th from Dublin to London and return. The winner must have a valid passport for travel. Flights and accommodation only are supplied.

8. Only one entry per person is permitted.

9. The selection of the winner will take place on 15th April 2013.

10. The winner will be notified by email or phone on 15th April. The winner will have to reply to this email by confirming their details, in order to receive their prize. No email will be sent to losers. If no response to the notification is received from the winners within 2 days following the day of the notification, the Promoter reserves the right to award the prize to alternative entrants. Alternative entrants mean substitutive winners, secondly chosen on April 18th 2013 in the case where the first winners would not be awarded their prizes for any reason.

11. Winner will be selected by Sony, no discussion over winner will be entered into.
12. Sony will have the right to use the photographs entered into this competition for promotion of Sony via any medium.

13. The prize may give rise to tax liabilities, which are the responsibility of the winners.

14. The prizes are not transferable or exchangeable. No cash or credit alternative is available.

15. Should the prizes become unavailable for any reason, the Promoter reserves the right to provide a substitute, similar prize of approximately equivalent or greater value. The Promoter shall not be held liable to that extent.

16. The Promoter reserves the right at any time and from time to time without any liability whatsoever, to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently this Web-site, including this Competition, with or without prior notice to participants.

17. In no event will the promoter or any person or entity involved in arranging, hosting, creating, producing or distributing the web-site or the competition be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of the use of or inability to use the web-site or out of the breach of any warranty, participation in the Competition or else.

18. The Promoter neither endorses nor is responsible for the accuracy or reliability of any opinion, advice or statement on the web-site, nor for any offensive, defamatory or obscene posting made on the web-site.

19. The Promoter will under no circumstance whatsoever irrespective of the cause therefore, be liable for any loss, damage or injury to the winner, nor to property, or else caused or suffered in connection with this Competition or any prizes awarded in connection herewith.
20. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, promoter’s liability or of any person or entity involved in the competition as stated in above shall for any reason whatsoever be limited to maximum euro 100.

21. Any personal information, including, without limitation, the participant’s name, age, address (including postcode), mobile phone number and/or email address will be used solely in connection with this Competition and will not be disclosed to any third party except for the purpose of this Competition or fulfilling prizes where applicable. The Sony Europe Privacy Notice displayed at http://www.sony.ie/pages/privacy/Privacy_statement_en_IE.html applies to any processing of data performed in connection herewith. Participant agrees to keep his or her user name and password secure and not to divulge it to any third party.

22. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall impose, limit or exclude any right or obligation to the extent that it is not permitted to impose, limit or exclude any such right or obligation under applicable law.
