Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not overly optimistic welcoming Derry to Dalymount it must be said. Apparently we've taken 1 point off them in our last 7 meetings or something crazy like that.

    Another horrible night for TMS.

    Matthews Out.

Indeed. At the risk of repeating myself; I'd be happy with a draw.

Sligo to finish with more goals than Shels have players on the pitch.

Shels might grab a consolation goal...10 minutes, after Sligo left the pitch after the final whistle

UCD for us. Not sure I can contain my excitement.

Really need to get a win and a good one at that, as some of our dribblers are beginning to call for Tommys head. And while I know he will not be sacked, it will create a shítty atmosphere around games which is no good for anyone.

I'm not overly confident for tomorrow night. I'd absolutely love a draw but Bohs have an absolutely dreadful record against Derry. Going forward, we've absolutely nothing to really rave about. Scully had a good game on Monday night but he's so predictable to play against. He's better than Wilson anyway who really doesn't inspire me with confidence at all. Watch him score a brace tomorrow. ;)

I'm happy enough with our midfield and having Mulcahy back is a bonus. We've been missing someone like him to take the ball down and relieve a bit of pressure.

Defensive wise, I think we're solid enough but Delany needs to be dropped. His communication with his defence is abysmal and non existant.

Going in with blind optimism. Heart says draw, head says loss but I don't think it'll be a heavy loss despite Derry scoring for fun at the moment.

If we concede a late goal to UCD I will be annoyed.

    Nothing less then 3 points.

I think I'm going to the UCD game, first City game. Really looking forward to it now.

We've lost 6 of the last 7 against Derry and the last 3 times at Dalyer!

Seen on Facebook that the Derry fans will be in block A of the Jodi. Probably better so to save money on opening the Des Kelly , I can't see more than 20/30 of them travelling especially with the early kick off.

Even Kenny had a decent record against Drogs in the league last season, but another draw is not out of the question...

I feel a draw is the best case scenario.

Tough month April is with Derry, Drogs and cork twice. With our current form we could be going into May and the sligo game with only 3 wins and out of the Setanta.

Hopefully we play our best 11, has to stop changing it around.

Unless of course he doesnt know it then....balls :(

In a way I'm glad I can't make it to Sligo on Saturday, could be really bad!

Hopefully it is! We adverage a goal every 31 minutes so hope we can bring that adverage down tomorrow night.

Can't make it to Bohs v Derry due to family commitments, but expect them to make short work of us, draw would be a great result.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Cant see anything but a Pats win really. Would be delighted to get anything from the game.

I have big game fever ahead of the UCD game tonight.

It really does not get any more exciting that this.

Looking forward to later, hopefully we can nick a win against derry. More unlikely things have happened.

I'm just glad, it will be a Friday night, without Shels being hammered...

    ...because they play tomorrow

Despite us having a great start to the season we are yet to win a home game. (In fairness we've had Shams, Sligo and Drogs so far). No doubt about it it'll be fourth time lucky this evening.

Limerick are having a decent season as well but they are about to feel the full force of a rejuvenated Dundalk side. We will make it quick and painless and give the bruised and battered Limerick side a dignified send off when they leave Oriel Park defeated at approximately 10pm this evening.

This is the least glamorous tie thus far at Oriel this season so it will be interesting to see if we can maintain our 2000+ attendance this evening. Don't think we will as Limerick won't bring many. Probably get 1600 or so I'd say. Prediction 3-1 to the glorious Lilywhites.

So "excited" you had to post twice about your "excitement"?

Hard to see us getting anything tonight. McMillan up front is getting no decent service whatsoever. Really missing O'Conor in midfield.

    1-0 Derry

  • Moderators, Regional East Moderators Posts: 23,231 Mod ✭✭✭✭GLaDOS

Cracking strike to put Derry 1-0, poor closing down by us outside the box though, too much time given to him

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Bohs are playing well despite being a goal down - they don't look like a beaten team at all.

    Fycking state of that surface.

Another good finish there for Derry, was allowed too much room though.

Typical LOI refereeing decision there :p

    edit, hop ball now :p

Laughable decision, wasnt even a hot ball, he just gave it back to the goalie.

    The back pass by Derry?

Well, a back pass has to be played with the foot, or something like that

Grand, Shels will be rock bottom of the table if they don't win away to the current league champions Sligo. Happy days ahead

Drogheda take the lead at Tallaght.
    Shamrock Rovers 0 - 1 Drogheda United
14' - Great goal from Drogheda, deep cross from Shane Grimes finds the head of O'Conor who nods past Brush from about 12 yards out

Pats 1 up @ Bray also, Forrester goal.

No way we'll keep a clean sheet.

Blatant handball not given for Bohs.

Sure enough 1-1....still, though, as it stands, "WE ARE bottom of the league, I said we are bottom of the league!"

Derry without mercy against teams from the Northside of Dublin, I suppose...

Another great victory for us tonight, would have been delighted with a 1-0 victory, let alone 4-0.

Thought we had some great performances all over the pitch. Rafter has been a great signing for us. Madden excellent as always. Kavanagh looked sharp, and McNamee and Molloy their usual selves.

We seem to have a lot of goal scoring threats this season, as scoring goals has always been a strugglle for us. Long may this continue!

Once we get our full side out, we'll be hard to beat.

Edit: I thought the Brandywell was bumpy this season, but Jez Dalymount is awful.

I must say, Derry plays some decent football alright, good counter attacking and without mercy in front of goal.

I have a feeling Shams will score another injury time goal this week :(

Sava makes a superb save in injury time apparently.

    Shams 1-1 Drogs FT

DWDDDD so far for the home side.

Are they going for some class of most draws in a season record?
