Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
My brother is on the above however he has being offered a job for the summer around 18 weeks work and 35hrs per week approx. Now he can only work 20 hours, what would his position be with the other 15, would the benefits be cut and once the part time contract is finished would the normal rates be returned to him.

He should get 350 per week doesn't know the exact amount but lets say 10euro per hour then whatever tax is taken out. He has no problem taking a cut for the work period but he is afraid that when he is finished he won't get the normal amount returned.

Had a look on the social website but couldn't realy understand it. Anybody know more.

He has a visual imparment so he should be allowed work.

    Income from work

You can do rehabilitative work and earn up to €120 per week (after deduction of PRSI, any pension contributions and union dues) without your payment being affected. You must get permission from the Department of Social Protection before you start work.
50% of your earnings between €120 and €350 will not be taken into account in the Disability Allowance means test. Any earnings over €350 are fully assessed in the means test.
