Runners cutting the inside of my foot

    Hi all.

When training for any sort of decent time, the skin on the insides of my feet will peel away leaving my foot red raw and extremely sore. I think my feet are particularly narrow (can't wear slip on shoes, they just slip off), so I'm wondering if it is something to do with my shoes. I have a pair of asics runners.

Is this a problem others experience? Is it a case that I need different runners / even specialist runners?

    Thanks.

what kind of runners are they?

Your best bet would be to get yourself into a proper running shop and ask to be fitted for shoes. It wont cost anything if you buy the shoes from them and they will be able to advise you on your foot shape and arch etc and which show will suit you the most.

Also, although much less likely, it could be your socks. Make sure you are not wearing cotton rich socks which during exercise would build heat up fast and cause rubbing and tearing on the inside of your foot.
