Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

i have a petrol husqvarna 50sve and i havent used it over the winter. i tried starting it but wouldnt so i youtubed it and here is what i have done so far with it.

    put in new spark plug
removed old petrol and replaced it with new
    changed oil
    changed air filter
charged the battery (key ignition starter)

still not starting, it has one of them prime buttons just at the carburetor, is it possible to prime them too much? i also tried running it without spark plug to see if anything came out and ran it with the air filter off so see if that helped. still nothing. its not dead, its turning over but not firing - not sure if thats the right terminology. please help - with this nice weather its a shame not to get started!

Have you tried to start it using the recoil rope?

Sometimes if it has been a while since it was last started using the recoil back up can be easier than the key.

Check the plug and see if it is wet. - If it is not wet spray some wd40 or similar flammable liquid into the air intake hole. (Not alot, just one or two short sprays)

Put the spark plug back in and give the rope a good hard pull and see if it goes.

There is a chance you might have some old fuel still in the carb or worse - some water / slime left behind after the fuel has evaporated.

See if you have a spark first off if you have next thing would be to see if there is an in line fuel filter and is the petrol getting through.

If all that is good try putting a small drop of petrol into the carb :-)

ok well i took the carb off and had a look inside. its perfectly clean, bit of dog hair but nothing major. popped it back on cleaned out the hoses and stuff and tried it again. it wouldn't start with the key but did with the ripcord. did the grass and tried it again with the key and it worked ok. not sure why but its good as new! thanks

A spray of Easy Start directly in the carb or indeed to the cylinder itself should give you the kick you need to get her firing. Use in moderation, its quite explosive stuff !
